Hunter Motto’s Weblog: Light, Sound, Color

A-log, an introduction

It was likely Aristotle who said, “We make blog war that we might live in blog peace”.
And it is war indeed. This blog aims to supercede the blog of that Nathan Dufour Oglesby, proving that the quixotic ways of his bloggery will forever rest in the shadow of this machine. Two young men will test their rhetorical wit, one pressed against the other. There are no rules though there are limitations established by the limitations of the blog medium itself. We will respect these limitations and contain all warfare within the blogosphere. As always victory is decided by the critics and commentors, comments are welcome. Comments are necessary to perpetuate competitiveness and continual appraisal of the separate blogs.

  1. No. Aristotle didn’t say that. But this post reminds me of his teacher: you seem to blog, as it were, from the inside of a dark cave, as if you have never seen a real, let alone an ideal, blog before. As if you have no conception of the ideal blog shining brilliantly outside your range. It’s a place of expressive thought you have obviously not, judging by your post, even been released into. Now imagine me standing outside the cave, in which your eyes and groping about in the dark for a lucid post you can’t conceive, and I’m pissing down into the cave, on your dark-shrouded head, so that you might at least perceive that much of the world of light.

  2. Commenting is dangerous. Above I appear to have written “and” where I meant “are.” It really weakens an attack. I should remember that. Remember to proof read.

“the quixotic ways of his bloggery” must be the best phrase I’ve read in a while.

You win today. I take back what I said on his blog.

Now, what happened to those comments I tried to post? I noticed you have since changed your introduction, as a counter-attack–that is most dishonorable. They were quite extensive, my comments. It was all something about your blogging being done in a dark cave, wherein you’re unable to see the light of day, the ideal blog–which is you know who’s. But so much for that. No more cowardice, please, villain.

I also want to add, since you are so inclined to identify yourself with Aristotle, another nugget from his teacher (which, of course, seizes your allusion and allows me to be identified with that teacher)–”Courage is knowing what not to fear.” You talk about the need for comments, but you didn’t allow my initial ones to post. Obviously, you feared them; even though you proclaim their importance and necessity. And so you are, logically, without courage. And a dishonorable blogger. Bitch.
